TOVARISCH

Mobile application

Concept

Tovarich is a mobile application to help the people of Russia find the party delegate they should vote for.

The approach

What if the Soviet Union had Our current technology?

No doubt an application would have been an important tool in the Communist election process and establishing the rule of the people. The Communist Party convened once a year and held election for the central community which served as a government decide on policy - thou, only officially. Unofficially, the head of the Party runs the state.

Home page

You don’t know whom to vote for to the central committee?
Take a questionnaire and find out the best candidate suitable for you.

Then take some pride in Soviet success or look at popular searches to find out what your tovarisches are searching.

The design:
For the headlines, the application uses bold, narrow geometric font inspired by soviet harsh-line aesthetics, while the running text is in a neutral - easy to read font for better legibility. To bring a modern look the buttons are rounded, it also serves to differentiate them from the harsh-lines soviet inspired graphic making them more noticeable.

By people (party members) or by factions. Your best matches are highlighted and appear on top. Every candidate has a picture and an short description. You can click on each candidate to learn more about them.

The design:
The candidates profile icon makes use of pictures and made to look like a paper collage, a technique that was very popular with the Russian avant-garde movement.

Candidate detalis

Lean more about the candidate, his past achievement and positions or contact him directly by call, e-mail or message. Compare him to other candidates and reveal whom is better for you. See what the public opinion is, from what’s being said on social media.

The design:
The candidates contact information display takes its look from current phones and remade to suit the application. To help the main information on the candidate stand out visually, it is represented by icons in the same visual language as the logo.

Lenin candidate detalis

See what other tovarisches think and share your own thoughts on the candidate on your favorite social media platform.

The design:
Facebook is given a new look to match the application - in the spirit of the communism and the time the Congress of the Russian Communist Party was held on.

The design:
The two candidates are represented by variations on the main red color of the application. For the “dry” facts, basic line charts are used for comparison, for more in-depth parameters the graphs make use of icons to represent the subject of the comparison.
